Every runner receives a shirt, automatic entry into the 2011 Trail Runner Trophy Series of races (anyone who finishes a Trophy Series race is automatically entered. Visit for more info) and entry into Running Fit‘s Serious Series – more information to be found at

Runners also receive plenty of food, course support, awards 5 deep in 5 year age divisions, an amazingly scenic and challenging course and the opportunity for a post race dip moments from the finish!

There are plenty of bathroom facilities and aid stations with water, electrolyte replacement and more.  The course is clearly marked, mostly ribbons and signs.

Packet pick up is available Fri Aug 5 from 5 – 8pm and there will likely be ‘stuff’ for purchase as well

The beauty and challenge of the course, the fun while competitive atmosphere and lots of camaraderie with great people make this race memorable!

2011 is the first year for the half marathon! Check the website for all the updates!

Races begin at 8am.  Temperatures in Aug usually range from lows in the 50s to highs in the 80s.  The race starts and finishes in the same place.

Most of our participants come from MI, OH, IN.  Bishop International, and Detroit Metro, are approximately an hour or so away.  Hotels are close to the start as well as camping available at the park.

Grocery stores are just 5 – 10 miles from the park. Cell phone coverage is available in the area.

To prepare for this race, train on hills and trails.  First time attendees should follow the course markings – not the runner in front, enjoy the beauty of the course. Greg Sadler Photography / will be on the course to take pictures.

This is a beautiful course with start and finish at the beach!  Stay & enjoy the park afterwards! The 5, 10 & 13.1 mile events offer something for everyone, running the race automatically enters you into Running Fit’s Serious Series and the 2011 Trail Runner Trophy Series, awards offered 5 deep in 5 year age divisions.
