The sheer beauty of the course and northern MI in the fall, color changes and all make this a very memorable race.

Most of the athletes come from MI, IN, OH &  WI but the event has enjoyed steady growth.  Cherry Capital Airport, http://www.tvcairport.com/ is located in Traverse City, MI and there are plenty of hotels in the area, please visit http://www.traversecity.com/ Grocery stores can be found within 10 miles from the start of the race.

Vasa Trail Run Race Review

The race starts and finishes in the same area, with no traffic issues to be concerned about. The course is clearly marked – mostly with ribbons and signs, but the race director will give clear instructions at the start of the event. There are plenty of bathroom facilities. “We are only able to find 2 car accessible points on the Vasa Trail to set up aid aid stations, one per race. For the 10K the aid station will be around 6K. For the 25K the aid station will be around 12K to 13K. It is recommended that all participants carry their own water and fill up at the aid station.” Water will be available at the start and finish.

First timers should Train on trails and hills.  Follow the course markings – not the person in front of you.  Enjoy the beauty of the area.  Aid will be available on the course, but it is recommended that all runners carry their own fluids and energy replacement needs.

This race is a nice change from the mega events of late, the Vasa Trail Run offers a beautiful and well-managed event in one of best-loved vacation spots that MI has to offer.  Early October in MI generally lends itself to perfect running conditions along with color changes not to be missed.  Proceeds go to maintain the Vasa trail, http://www.traversetrails.org/

  1. Aw, this was an extremely good post. Taking a few minutes and actual effort to produce a really
good article… but what can I say… I procrastinate a whole lot and never manage
    to get anything done.
